Who we are
AWWOW is operated by ALCO TECNOLOGIA E CONSULTORIA LTDA, CNPJ 63.161.585/0001-41, based in Brazil. We are the data controller for the information collected through AWWOW. You can reach us at hello@awwow.com.
What we collect
We collect your quiz answers, which may include a description of another person and an optional first name. We also use an anonymous browser session token and collect usage events and campaign parameters from the landing URL. Please do not include sensitive information or details you do not have permission to share.
Payments
Payments are handled by Paddle, our payment provider. We store purchase status and payment references, not card data.
Accounts and secret profiles
Buyers never need an account. If you make a secret profile, you sign in with your email address through a one-time sign-in link, without a password. We store your email, your first name and your profile answers (interests, personality, what you have too much of, what you would love to get and what to avoid), plus a count of how many gifts your profile helped with. Anyone who has your profile link can use it: your answers are used to generate gift recommendations for them, but they never see your answers, and you never see who used it or what was recommended. You can edit or delete your profile at any time at /me; deleting it removes all of its answers and stops the link from working. To also delete your sign-in account, email hello@awwow.com.
Accomplice answers
You can invite someone who knows the recipient to answer a few questions about them. Their answers add information about the recipient, are stored with your session and are used to refine your read and ideas. The person you invite never sees your answers, your read or any gift idea.
Gift follow-up
If you bought a gift plan, we email you once after the date you set for giving the gift (or 30 days after purchase if you did not set one) to ask how it went. Your reaction, the gift you chose and any comment are stored with your session. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we never email you again after you unsubscribe.
Why we collect it
We use your answers to generate and refine your gift guide. Session data links your answers and purchase to your guide. Usage events help us understand and improve the experience.
Legal basis
We process your quiz answers to deliver the service you request (performance of a contract) and usage events to run and improve the service (legitimate interests). Payment data is processed by Paddle.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, or object to its processing, by emailing hello@awwow.com. We reply within 30 days.
Who processes it
Our hosting, AI and payment providers process the information needed to deliver their services. Quiz answers and refinement requests are sent to our AI provider to generate gift concepts.
How long we keep it
We keep your quiz answers and the guides generated from them for 12 months after they are created, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner by emailing hello@awwow.com.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to the session that created it, and payment card data never reaches our servers.
Request deletion
To ask for deletion of your information, contact hello@awwow.com. Include your guide reference, but never send card details.
